I am going to talk about Mockingjay a little.. so if you aren’t interested.. move on?
I finished the book at 8am this morning after reading it all night and can I say that it is the most refreshing ending I have ever read in a book?
To the people complaining that their favourite characters died or their favourite ship did’t come to fruition: Don’t you see that those points are not the basic message of the book?
It is a tale of war and friendship and power.. what power does to those who can be susceptible to the corruption of it.. and how everything in life is fleeting.
But the main reason I love the way Suzanne Collins ended the trilogy was the fact that she left Katniss in an ambiguous position in life not knowing what would happen next or who she would even see next. She let Katniss feel the pain of war and admitted that people do not recover quickly when depression sets in. It wasn’t a happy ending and I commend her for that. Thank you Suzanne Collins for writing the TRUTH to what would really happen to your characters.
